One-Year Anniversary of the Troop Surge

A week ago marked the one-year anniversary of the launching of the highly successful U.S. troop surge in Iraq. On Valentine's Day last year, 30,000 additional troops were sent to the Baghdad as a final opportunity to bring peace and security to a nation heading towards a civil war. Please watch this CBN News video and continue to give God the glory and intercede for our troops and Iraq:

The events in Iraq will continue to shape the future of the Middle East, our nation and the rest of the world. Even as we rejoice in the good news of the past several months, death and violence is can always be just around the corner. Blessed is the nation whose GOD is the LORD,
the people HE chose for HIS inheritance.
From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
from HIS dwelling place HE watches all who live on earth-
HE who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear HIM,

on those whose hope is in HIS unfailing love,
to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
We wait in hope for the LORD; HE is our help and our shield.
In HIM our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
May YOUR unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD,

even as we put our hope in YOU.

President Bush Gives a Speech on Prayer

President George W. Bush addressed national leaders during the Annual National Prayer Breakfast on February 7, 2008. Here's a portion of his inspirational speech on prayer: "In prayer, we grow in meekness and humility. By approaching our Maker on bended knee, we acknowledge our complete dependence on Him. We recognize that we have nothing to offer God that He does not already have -- except our love. So we offer Him that love, and ask for the grace to discern His will. We ask Him to remain near to us at all times. We ask Him to help us lead lives that are pleasing to Him. We discover that by surrendering our lives to the Almighty, we are strengthened, refreshed, and ready for all that may come".
