First, we want to thank you for all of your prayers and support in this season and beyond for TheCall Sacramento. As shared over the weekend in Sacramento, the Luke18 Project in partnership with TheCall will be launching a two-week journey through the state of California calling young adults to a culture of prayer and a life of mission. We are calling it, "the Purple Pig Tour!" and will focus one week in Northern California visiting various campuses and cities that will culminate into a regional Fuel School Conference with Lou Engle on October 1-2 in Berkeley, CA.

We would like to invite you to join a conference call on Tuesday, September 21, at 2pm (California Time) to connect with what you all have been laboring for and to see how this tour can practically serve and encourage the body of Christ in Northern California, as well as share the heart and vision for this journey.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a young man named Dick Eastman had a dream of establishing 24/7 prayer centers with young people who would contend for revival day and night. In the heyday of the Jesus Movement, he established the first prayer center, which they called “the Fire House,” in Sacramento, CA. He wrote about this radical movement of prayer and revival in 1974 in a book called The Purple Pig and Other Miracles.

Now, nearly 40 years later, through the Purple Pig Tour! (named after Dick’s book) a traveling team of young adults seek to carry on the vision of Dick Eastman and call another generation to a culture of prayer and a life of mission. In a joint partnership with TheCall, the International House of Prayer (IHOP-KC), Every Home for Christ (EHC), and Luke18 Project, this traveling team will work with campus ministries, local churches, and prayer ministries to challenge young adults to plant prayer furnaces on college campuses and the hardest and darkest places of the earth.

Though California finds herself at a crisis moment, we believe that California is ripe for a new move of the Holy Spirit not unlike the Jesus Movement of the late 1960s and 1970s. From Azusa Street to the Jesus People, from Frank Bartleman to Keith Green, California has historically been a hotbed of revival activity. To that end, the Purple Pig Tour! will join with college campuses, local churches, and houses of prayer calling upon God for a new Jesus Movement to sweep across California and the entire nation.
