National Prayer Assembly : Seeking the Face of God for America

The National Prayer Committee, Mission America, Intercessors for America, Jesus Alliance, IHOP and International Prayer Council are cooperating to call together people with a heart to pray for an all-out time of prayer for the nation just before the congressional elections. We sense that the country is at a crucial point in its history with many dangers and threats from without and within that need to be confronted through getting on the Lord's wavelength with others from across America. As one theologian put it, "History belongs to the intercessors, who believe the future into being!"

Are you sensing a call of God to a time of intense intercession for the United States? At this time of growing crisis in which our nation seems to be have lost its direction morally, spiritually, politically and economically, a number of Christian leaders have heard that call and are inviting you to Washington DC, October 29-30 for a National Prayer Assembly.  Scheduled just one week before our national elections, it comes at a crucial time in our nation's life. It is not a time for politicking or posturing, but for passionate prayer for a fresh move of God for the transformation of our nation. Our prayer focus is on repentance, reconciliation, and revival in the spirit of God's great promise for national restoration in 2 Chronicles 7:14. This gathering is being sponsored by America's National Prayer Committee, The International Prayer Council, IHOP, Mission America Coalition, Intercessors for America, and Jesus Alliance.

 
The venue will be the Sheraton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia near Reagan National Airport. A registration fee of $55 helps us secure the gorgeous meeting room overlooking all of D.C. and provides coffee, tea, and water for the two days of praying together. 10/17 Letter from a Houston Pastor

To Intercessors Across America 

 

On Thursday morning, October 17, a scheduled Monthly prayer meeting for Pastors of Houston’s largest churches for revival and spiritual awakening became a gathering of over 50 pastors and ministry leaders who were desiring to pray against the city of Houston’s subpoena of sermons of five Houston pastors that spoke out against the city’s equal rights ordinance (HERO). 

 

The pastor of Houston’s First Baptist did a great job in guiding us to stay focused in our prayer time for revival and spiritual awakening for Houston. During the prayer gathering pastors began to cry out to the Lord in Repentance. They prayed for Three things: 1. That the Lord would rend the heavens and come down to bring revival to His frail church and spiritual awakening to lost people in the city. 2. For Pastors to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach with power the uncompromising gospel of Jesus. 3. Mediate on behalf of all Government leaders, including the Mayor of Houston, to lead with wisdom.  

 

At the conclusion of the prayer time Senator Ted Cruz along with area pastors from across political persuasions, race and denominational relationships, came together to conduct a press conference with area news agencies. It was a bipartisan effort to call the church of Houston for Revival and Spiritual awakening. In the words of Senator Cruz, “ We need Revival in America”. Christians were challenge to pray for revival and spiritual awakening every day.

 

The pastors will continue to meet every third Thursday and there is an on-going effort to mobilize churches across Houston to gather to pray for revival and spiritual awakening every Wednesday. In January 2015 a multidenominational gathering for unity will be held at Lakewood church. Please join us in prayer for Revival for America. 


A Call to Prayer ~ 1 Timothy 2:1-8


First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.
