It is a crucial time for praying people to arise and engage for America. Our country is at a tipping point with a looming national election that will impact future generations as a new president will appoint the next justices to the Supreme Court. We face an overwhelming national debt of almost $20 trillion, a much-divided nation, and a foreign policy that is in shambles, having engendered more war and chaos and the rise of ISIS. It is time for His people to stand in the gap and cry out for deliverance of our nation and the fulfillment of His destiny for it.
Here is an encouraging prophetic message for those of us who are feeling burdened to pray for America. It is from Dr. Leslie Keegel, one of my colleagues in the international prayer movement. Dr. Keegel, is a senior leader of the Foursquare denomination and one of the most accurate prophetic voices in our time. Let us rise up and pray with His faith and authority as Keegel urges in order to push back the darkness and see a new day come forth for our nation.
"I see a large storm approaching over the United States. The clouds are dark and thick darkness covers the landmass. …What I hear the Lord say is, the enemy certainly is gathering in with well planned, sinister plans to cause catastrophic loss on the United States of America, but the praying Church's intercession will be heard by the Lord of the harvest and the enemy will certainly be put to shame. Our Lord is calling us out of fear to prayer in Holy Ghost strength. As you my Church, my army and the generals of intercession rise up together in Holy boldness you will defeat the enemy. I hear the Lord say, let courage rise up with danger, to defeat the enemy in every way. As you my people rise up in boldness to praise, worship and pray, you will see the enemy forces defeated. You will approach an era and season of profound prophetic victory over all the nations and national principalities of each of the nations. The gospel will spread like a flood as the glory of the Lord covers the earth like the waters cover the seas.” (June 5, 2015)
1. Let’s pray for our people to wake up and see the stakes in this election. There is much spiritual blindness and political gullibility in the electorate. Pray that all who vote will have both moral and political discernment to vote for upright, honest candidates that will love and serve the best interests of the nation rather than themselves.
2. Pray that wicked and corrupt officials will be exposed and brought down wherever they are in federal, state and local government. May there be a thorough house cleaning of our government resulting in new beginning for our nation!
3. For God’s choice for our next president and that the American people will clearly discern who that should be and accordingly come out to vote en masse. Pray especially that those who call themselves followers of Christ will exercise their voting privileges and not abdicates this important prerogative to shape the nation’s future.
4. Let us pray for the overthrow of Satanism, which has increased with a network of satanic temples and covens in our country. Pray that those involved in the occult, New Age, and Eastern religious cults and other false religious practices will be set free from the darkness and come into His glorious light.
5. Pray with and for the National Prayer Assembly, October 27-28, that the Lord will use the united prayers of the ministry leaders and intercessors gathering in our country’s capital to make a historic difference in the election and other national issues that will be the focus. Register HERE.
