5th Anniversary of War in Iraq

President George W. Bush ordered the United States Military to invade and take control over Saddam Hussein’s Iraq on March 19, 2003. Five years have past, and the history of Iraq, the Middle East region and our nation has been forever altered. More than 4000 of our warriors as well as hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and Afghanis have perished. Many set to destroy the free world have been captured/killed and al Qaeda and Taliban have been greatly weakened. Threats from Iran and Syria continue to grow. Soon America will vote in a new president. It appears that Mr. McCain, Mr. Obama, or Mrs. Clinton will have to deal with complex security issues and confront dangers that are humanly impossible.

This is a good time to pause and meditate on Psalm 33:12-22 which begins with “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” For God so love the world that He desired ALL nations to come under His reign and peace. This includes Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, and the United States. May the remaining months of Bush presidency and the new term of the new president bring glory and honor to Jesus. May His people become His intercessors and stand in to gap for America as well as the nations of the Middle East and rest of the world. Please go to http://www.worldwideprayer.com/, an excellent resource for prayer for the global issues.
