Peter Carlson's Report: PSN 3/22 with:
Julia Pferdehirt, www.becausejusticematters.org

Dixie shared that their family is planning to travel the country in a motor home much of the year to spread awareness for the abolition of human trafficking and to point people to the training to help them start a ministry (big undertaking). She had some requests for their needs to locate state coordinators, an RV to travel in, and monthly support. Of course, her main focus was the current ministry in FL and requests for it. One important point to me was that they partner with secular organizations in order to be effective.

Julia had a lot to say and some compelling descriptions of the ministry work in San Francisco. We wound up with only about 7 minutes of prayer, but it was clearly resonating with people. One point she shared is that there is a stretch of 40 blocks in Oakland that is known for its massage parlors (brothels) and great needs.

It was good to have a full hour with Steve in order to get some history of how MoR started in Germany and point out the anti-Semitism in the world today, as well as hear what events are taking place annually both here and in other nations. We talked about the website where individuals can register to pray, even if they don’t live near a place where a march is planned (4/27). Some of his prayer points were: participate, heal relationships, help for remaining survivors of the holocaust (often alone and poor), our national policies, and wisdom for the gov’t of Israel. He did make a couple of political statements, but mostly we had good background and good prayer segments. We ended a couple minutes early, as it seemed people were done praying and Steve had wrapped up.
