Intercession for National Leadership Summit,
Colorado Springs, November 2-5
with Lisa Crump, Vice-President of Volunteer Mobilization and
Liaison to Prayer Ministries for the National Day of Prayer Task Force
"We will be celebrating the ‘oneness’ of Cry Out America volunteer coordinators joining forces with National Day of Prayer Task Force. Together, we now seek to mobilize prayer on Patriot Day, 9/11 in addition to the First Thursday of May annually. What a privilege to officially meet many of you as you journey to Colorado for perhaps your first visit where our national headquarters resides. Our staff and volunteers have had three prayer assignments in recent years, twice to Washington D.C. and once to Hollywood, as part of our annual time together. However this year, we deeply anticipate learning, training, listening to one another and to our Lord God. We continue to minister to a nation with many spiritual needs in a culture greatly divided. The National Leadership Summit will be our first full opportunity to convene together as those who assemble multitudes on two national days by public law."
planned for the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, Saturday, Dec 2, 2017.

When a hurricane hit Houston the first responders knew what to do to rescue the victims and start rebuilding their city. A different kind of storm devastated our city on August 12. Since then, performing artists brought a #Concert4Cville that was much appreciated. Now, just before the first Sunday of Advent, faith responders are calling the Christian community together for a multi-racial, non-political #Prayer4Cville t hat includes a...

We seek Humility. Although we support all those who are evaluating the causes of our city's problems and organizing action in a variety of ways, it is not the purpose of this day. We will ask anyone who attends to not speak or carry signs that in any way focus blame on anyone but ourselves. The church of Jesus Christ should transcend and transform politics, but today we will gather to ask forgiveness of God and one another who we have failed. The majority white church especially needs to do this. This day of prayer for our city comes just before the first Sunday of Advent when Christians begin celebrating the coming of Jesus over 2000 years ago. As we end this year, we will ask Him to come in this city with "...peace, goodwill toward men" and give us a new beginning so that this city becomes a testimony to the world that is different from the narrative since August 12.
We seek Respectfulness. We will welcome collaboration and encourage the Christian community to take action after this day. Because of our desire to focus on our own responsibility in the Christian community this event is not being organized as an action-oriented day, nor as an interfaith expression, even though all are welcome to attend. After our spiritual focus on this day, we hope a new beginning for many thousands of people will occur between faiths and races and denominations and political parties in ways that perhaps was unthinkable before. It is our belief that no problems can be solved if there is not a place for respectful communication from all sides. We recommend strategies to first restore respect in all venues in our community. Special Invitation: One Year Anniversary of CHPP Bible Readathon, Oct 30 - The Capitol Hill Prayer Partners Bible Readathon began on October 31st 2016. The purpose was to prepare the way for the November 8th elections. When we quote Isaiah 55:11, we often put it this way: "God's Word does not return void." We all experience that truth. The Lord prompted us to continue. The one year anniversary is now at hand and we want you to join us as we celebrate! Come join us this coming Monday evening, October 30, 2017 at 9 PM, ET, on the Readathon line: 712-770-4340 access code 350430# ~ Janet Dibble, Serving with CHPP, NSPC, PSN
