08.18.07 JOINT PRAYER MEETING ACROSS AMERICA

You are invited to a “joint” prayer meeting on Saturday, August 18th for the purposes of:
- UNITY in the Body of Christ
- REPENTANCE on behalf of the sins of the Church & our nation
- INTERCESSION for Iraq & the Middle East

Prior to September 15th, General David H. Petraeus will testify before the Congress on the progress of the "troop surge" in Baghdad, Iraq. This crucial assessment will most likely determine the decision of President Bush and Congress regarding “Operation Iraqi Freedom.” Our military's success (or lack there of) will have far reaching consequences around the world.

The greatest impact will be among Iraqis and other Muslims in having access to the Word of God, as well as a Christian witness. Will the Middle East experience a great revival and salvation among the millions of Muslims? Or will God once again raise up the kingdoms of "Babylon," "Persia," and "Assyria" and use them as God's instruments of judgment upon His people to expose their prideful, unrepentant and disobedient hearts. Our intercession will make the difference. Let us choose HUMILITY over HUMILIATION!

We are asking that praying Christians everywhere gather to pray on Saturday, August 18th, in their hometowns (or while vacationing). Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions on how to put prayer meetings together in churches and homes. Naturally if the schedule below does not work please use your own, but pray.

8:00-10:00AM Eastern Time
7:00-9:00AM Central Time
6:00-8:00AM Mountain Time
5:00-7:00AM Pacific Time
We will be connected through a conference call for the first 15 minutes (8:00-8:15 Eastern) for a brief-time of teaching and instructions which will help provide a clearer focus for the prayer meetings.

Let us link our hearts as one asking our heavenly Father to have mercy and sweep across the Middle East with His Spirit. If you desire to participate in the 08.18.07 JOINT PRAYER MEETING ACROSS AMERICA, please contact prayersurgenow@gmail.com for more details including the conference call number and code.

OPERATION PRAYER SURGE PRAYER POINTS AUGUST 2007

One month ago, we provided several detailed prayer points for Iraq and the Middle East. Please request your copy of this month's prayer points and find out how prayers have been answered and where we need to now target our prayers. As more encouraging news emerges from the Middle East, let us KEEP ON ASKING, KEEP ON SEEKING, and KEEP ON KNOCKING.

A SOLDIER WHO APPRECIATES YOUR PRAYER

Below are the words of gratitude from Pete Hegseth, Executive Director, Vets for Freedom.

I believe in the power of prayer, and as a soldier, I felt it first hand. When I was in Iraq, my family and friends back home held me up in prayer, and it gave me an assurance and sense of calm that I otherwise would not have had. This is what makes the Iraq Prayer Surge so important. Your prayers—for our troops AND their mission—are a powerful component of bringing a lasting peace to Iraq. Thank you for your prayers. They mean a great deal to soldiers, their families, and the people of Iraq. God bless you.

“THE NEED FOR PRAYER”

The need for prayer…… once realized……is overpowering.
It’s like a soldier entering a mission for the first time that might be his last.
He becomes aware of his needs……especially the need to get a grip on his fears.
Some people of our country are becoming aware of our need for God’s help……His divine intervention.
They know that without His action……
what Americans have been familiar with over the past decades will be gone.
The strength of our military nor the great and high tech weaponry nor the great ingenuity and
courage of the warrior will be sufficient.
Just as General George C. Marshall…… a man who fought in both World Wars……
said in a speech to a college student body after World War II.

“The soldier’s heart, the soldier’s spirit, the soldier’s soul are everything. Unless the soldier’s soul sustains him, he cannot be relied on and will fail himself, his commander, and his country in the end.”
George C. Marshall, General of the Army

Just as it is with the heart……the spirit……the soul……
of the soldier – so it goes with the nation.
Prayer……humble……fervent……committed……selfless……
prevailing……persistent is what our nation needs.

In Addition To….Repentance….
